Gleaning Field Employment Incubator

Gleaning Field Employment Incubator is a community development private equity program model.  Local Partners develop, own and operate incubator programs supporting employment social enterprise and employee co-op conversions through operating business acquisition, expansions and community franchise models with a focus on training and hiring of hard to employ populations. The program provides training, capital, franchising and other support for these workforce enterprises.

In the Bible, portions of harvest fields were to be set aside to allow the poor, the alien, the orphan and the widow an opportunity to work to gather food and provide for themselves and their families. This law reflects the truth that all people are made to work and care for God’s creation. It also establishes limits on profit making to enable the poor to have dignified work and contribute to the flourishing of community.

Do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor. (Leviticus 23:22)
