Kin Redeemer Guaranty Fund

Stewarding Resources to Restore Communities

The Kin Redeemer Guaranty Fund is a guaranty pool funded by philanthropic investors and donors administered by a donor advised fund. The Kin Redeemer Guaranty Fund provides targeted financial guaranties to support women and minority-owned small businesses, workforce enterprises and neighborhood development benefiting low and moderate income communities. The enhanced financial credit provided by the financial guaranties would allow these community initiatives to access capital from investors. The Kin Redeemer Guaranty Fund looks to reverse historic societal inequities and preserve low-income neighborhoods and communities of color disproportionally affected by the pandemic and subsequent economic recession.

In the Bible, “kin redeemer” is the relative who restores or preserves the full community rights of disadvantaged family members. The concept arises from God’s covenant relationship with His people and points to the redemption of all humanity in Jesus Christ.

If a fellow countryman of yours becomes so poor he has to sell part of his property, then his nearest kinsman is to come and buy back what his relative has sold. (Leviticus 24:25)
